Dehradun, April 21, 2025 — On the occasion of National Public Relations Day 2025, the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) Dehradun Chapter hosted an engaging and forward-looking event focused on the theme: “Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence in Public Relations.” The event brought together communication professionals, academicians, and government stakeholders for an insightful discussion on integrating AI ethically into modern PR practices.
Delivering the keynote address, PR strategist and PRSI member Akash Sharma highlighted how AI can enhance, rather than replace, human-centered communication. “AI is not here to replace us—it’s here to amplify our purpose,” Sharma said. “PR is about people. Artificial Intelligence should empower human intuition with speed, precision, and scale.”
Live AI PR Campaign Demonstration Impresses Attendees
In an innovative and interactive segment, Sharma led the audience through a live PR campaign creation using AI tools such as ChatGPT and Canva AI. With input from the audience, the campaign theme selected was Eco-Tourism in Ranikhet, and within just three minutes, a full campaign titled “ReDiscover Ranikhet”—featuring the slogan “Breathe Green, Live Clean”—was created, complete with social media copy and visual content.
“This demonstration shows the potential of AI when combined with creativity and responsibility,” Sharma noted. “Campaigns that once took days can now be ideated and drafted within minutes—if used wisely.”
Highlighting Uttarakhand-Based AI Applications
Sharma also shared local success stories that illustrated how AI is already transforming communication efforts in Uttarakhand. Examples included the Jim Corbett Tourism Board’s AI-driven advertising campaigns and a Dehradun NGO’s plastic-free initiative designed using AI-generated posters and messaging.
“AI gives small voices a bigger microphone,” Sharma emphasized. “For a state like Uttarakhand, where tourism, culture, and environment intersect, AI is a tool that can help share our stories with the world more effectively.”
Discussion on AI Ethics in Public Communication
The event concluded with a panel discussion focused on ethical AI integration in government communication and grassroots public relations, reinforcing PRSI’s commitment to transparency, innovation, and responsible tech use in the evolving PR landscape.
